If your Intent to Use trademark (a trademark application filed before you began using it) has received a Notice of Allowance and you aren’t using the name in commerce yet, you will need to file an extension. This gives you 6 more months from the due date (6 months after the Notice of Allowance date) to use the trademark and file a Statement of Use (see Statement of Use). You can file up to 5 6-month extensions. Please note that no matter which day you file the extension, you still have 6 months from the due date to file an extension, so there is no need to wait until the due date to file an extension. it won’t give you more time.
